Justin Forsett - RB - Seahawks ESPN's Mike Sando predicts that Justin Forsett will lead the Seahawks in carries this season.
Sando, a former longtime Seahawks beat writer, believes Forsett is capable of 1,000 rushing yards because he's such a good fit for new line coach coach Alex Gibbs' zone-blocking scheme. Sando also confirms that Forsett and Leon Washington are "commanding most of the attention at running back" in Seattle, with alleged starter Julius Jones on the proverbial back burner. "The strength of our group is our group," said Smith. "It's not one guy, it's the entire group. They all complement each other ... I think we get something different from each and every one of them when they go in the game so that's what is exciting about this group." Justin Forsett is being drafted as a feature back despite all signs pointing toward a timeshare. It's a situation we'd avoid altogether.

Julius Jones - RB - Seahawks According to Clare Farnsworth of Seahawks.com, Seattle's backfield "still looks like this will end up being a running game by committee."
The "hot" back will end up getting the most carries. Justin Forsett has been the most impressive back in camp, but the Seahawks don't consider him a true feature back. Julius Jones started the first preseason game, and Leon Washington has exceeded expectations in his return from a fractured leg. Don't expect any of the Seattle backs to emerge as a reliable fantasy asset. August 21 - 1:20 p.m. ET

Washington outplayed Justin Forsett and Julius Jones, showing pre-injury speed on several runs while throwing an impressive block on Packers FS Nick Collins. It's a good reminder that a healthy Washington is the most talented back in Seattle. Still, don't expect much fantasy-wise in a committee attack. Washington's upside is a flex option.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Not a shock. Jones has always been a mediocre plodder, and it's pretty remarkable he's lasted this long without being cut. We'd rather roll the dice with Justin Forsett or Leon Washington in this backfield committee. It will be interesting to see if Jones keeps a roster spot. He's due a $2.45 million salary, and shouldn't be higher than third string by midseason.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Leon Washington started the third preseason game, but will return kicks and punts, and see slightly less action on offense. Forsett is a true committee back, but should rack up catches because he'll play on all third downs. Expect low- to mid-range RB2 numbers in PPR, depending on matchups (Week 1 against the 49ers isn't a good one). He's only an RB3 in non-PPR formats.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>It's hard to fault Forsett for the Seahawks' early-season struggles on the ground. He's playing as well as he did last season, but the offensive line isn't opening holes. This trade speaks more to coach Pete Carroll's long-held wish for a more physical early-down back with "attitude." Forsett is droppable in 12-team leagues as the lesser half of a potential committee attack.
